False Accusations || Don

Mac looked one last time in the rearview mirror before he looked at Brad. "I need you to drive,"he said as both him and Brad ducked, shots shattering through the rear windshield of the Avalanche. Brad looked at him, unsure. "Can you do that for me?"Mac asked. Brad finally nodded and reached over, taking the wheel of the vehicle as Mac twisted around in his seat, looking to see if he could find some way to get this van off the trail of the truck.

Don called Mac. "Mac, I lost them, I was hot on their heels and I freaking lost them. Backup never showed!!!" he said gasping for breath.

"Shit,"Mac muttered under his breath, listening to Don. "I would've if I could've, but this van's still on our tail. Looks like they've got semi-automatics,"he told Don, taking another look behind them. "Can you shoot?"Mac asked Brad. He thought he caught a bit of fear in the teen's eyes but he nodded. "Good, take this. If they shoot, you shoot back,"Mac told him, handing over his service weapon and taking the wheel of the truck again.

"Mac I got 'em. They're heading towards the Brooklyn Bridge!!!" Don shouted over the phone.

Mac nodded. "Alright, I'll try to head that way now. Hopefully I can lose this van by then!"

"I'll radio for backup again, hopefully these sons of bitches show up!!" Don said before hanging up. "This is Detective Don Flack, I need backup at the Brooklyn Bridge NOW!!! U sons of bitches better show the hell up. Be on the lookout for three Caucasian makes wearing red hooded sweaters with torn up jeans!!"

Mac nodded and put his phone back in the cup holder as Brad kept an eye on the van, Mac focusing on driving. They had to get to the Brooklyn Bridge to help Don. Hopefully they'd make it there...and make it alive.

Don finally arrived at the Brooklyn Bridge and surprisingly or not, backup was there, unis even responded, along with Aviation and K9 units. "Ok u guys know the drill, Detective Taylor's the intended target. When we approach these scumbags, u let me know, these guys are extremely dangerous. Use caution and be smart and mindful." he said.

Mac arrived with Brad in tow not too long after. Mac was still a bit breathless as he slid out of the truck, taking in a deep breath and then letting it out as a sigh as Brad joined him and handed Mac his gun. "We lost them in the traffic,"Mac said as him and Brad approached Don.

Don put on his bullet proof vest and nodded. "We got all units canvassing the area, looking for this gang. Brad, it's dangerous to leave u behind, so I want u to do something for me. U follow behind me, Mac will follow behind u. Kinda like a sandwich. Ok?" he asked.

Brad nodded and looked back at Mac, who gave a nod of confirmation as he put on his bullet proof vest and checked his gun one last time.

Don checked his gun one last time and slipped the extra clip into his pocket. "Alright, on my go, u ready? Let's move guys!!!!" he said as he circled around the bridge.

Brad staid close to Don and Mac staid close behind Brad in turn. The last thing he wanted was for this kid to be hurt, he honestly had developed a soft spot for him. He might even have to talk to child services about taking him in. Yeah...him and Brad got along that good.

Don turned around to face Mac and motioned to him. "They're right in front of us, smoking weed or something. It's your call, Mac, how do u wanna approach this?" he asked.

"Standard procedure,"Mac told Don with a nod.

Don nodded. "Just say the word, partner. I'm more than ready." he said, his eyes focused on the three scumbags.

Mac nodded. "Alright, let's move. Brad, you stay right by me, ok?"he said, looking from Don to Brad. Brad nodded and took a step closer to Mac.

Don stayed close to Brad, and Brad stayed close to Mac. "Don cocked his gun and took a deep breath. "NYPD, SHOW ME YOUR HANDS NOW!!! GET ON THE GROUND NOW!!!! TURN AROUND AND PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR HEAD!!!!!!!!"

Mac stepped up beside Don, Brad with a hand on his shoulder. Mac took one hand off his gun to lay it protectively on Brad's arm.

Don took out his cuffs and cuffed one of the suspects and read him his Miranda rights. "I'm sure u know by now your Miranda rights but I'll remind u of what they are. U have the right to remain silent. Anything u say and do can and most definitely will be used against u in a court of law. Hope u have a good lawyer because you're gonna need it. So. Tell us. Why the hell were u running and why were u targeting Detective Taylor?" he asked.

Mac still had his gun in his one hand, but now he had an arm around Brad, who was nervous all over again. He couldn't blame the kid, but he now kept an eye on the suspects as he murmured a few words to the nervous teenager that was leaning against him.

One of the gang members answered. "Why the hell do u think we were targeting Detective Taylor, Detective smart ass?" he asked.

Mac simply watched. "I was getting to close. You didn't want to be caught,"he supplied for an answer. Brad hid his face in Mac's shoulder, scared out of his mind by the men who were hunting for Detective Taylor. They planned to hurt him and kill him, and the three that stood with Detective Flack weren't the only ones looking for Taylor.

"Detective Taylor, do u always act like a dumbass around people? Just wondering." the suspect asked.

Mac just stared back at him. "That's an opinion question, isn't it?"he replied.
